Mobile version

Talked to the PBWiki admin staff the other day - they've re-enabled the mobile phone version for us. It had been restricted to "premium business users", but they're letting us use it for free. THANKS PBWIKI! The mobile version is read only, but I know a lot of people only have internet on their phone, so I'm happy to have it. Just point your phone's web browser at http://wikisarvn.pbwiki.com. It will auto detect that you're on a phone and give you a small screen friendly version of the site.

Welcome

Hello volunteers from all over. Bored? Help us clean house! New to the wiki? Don't see a folder/section/whatever for your country or project? Create one!

A note from Jason

We're glad you made it!

So glad in fact that you should log on and start contributing.

This is so important to the growth and goals of being a volunteer and to making your journey a successful one. I really do understand that there are limitations to how much you get on the internet! I do! I live in Lesotho. Trust me I know. However, this need not stop you all from getting on occaisionally and contributing to what can be a powerful instrument.

Don't let the opportunity pass you by!

All the best,

Jason Samuelian

FYI the Mozambique bunch will be up on here really soon. I'm not being MIA, just decided to wait till regionals to tell everyone about it. Our Regionals are spread throughout the month of March so all throughout March there should be a flood of Mozambique volunteers requesting access. Hope everyone is well! :)

Hi Lesotho Eds. I added two files(HighSchoolCareerGuidancetripGuide.doc & internet workshop.ppt). The first is a career guidance guide for taking high school students on trips to schools in Maseru. It makes for a good secondary project. I also added a power point presentation under ICT. It is a very simple guide to the basics on using the internet. I have given the presentation to about 10 internet illiterate teachers at my school and it has gone well. With the internet just coming to rural areas, you might find it useful. If you have computers but no internet, you might consider pooling your money with other teachers. R50 contributed by 10 teachers will buy a modem. We did that at Bethel High School and it worked well.

How useful is this for everyone? Lesotho PCVs, are you accessing this from the Remote VRCs? From other posts, is this working for you? How can we make it more useful? Other types of resources? Is there anything that PCVs want or need from staff for the Wiki? Keep the flame eveyone!
